Since they had established a friendship, Addi had never assumed that he would grow so close to her. When she left he sat by idly and awaited her return, because he knew that losing parental figures was hard enough. He knew that a vampire was behind it, but because of his own research; she had never told him about it and he had, in turn, never told her about being a werewolf. Simple things really, but keeping any innocence within Valerie Jones was enough of a reason for Addison to remain silent. If she had liked him, he was oblivious, he just knew they had no one and sought confidante in each other. There possibly could be something more between them, but he sucked at reading people and from what he knew about Val was one thing - she hid her emotions under a thick wall; just as Addison did after his parents died and he became a werewolf, much like how he does today.
And that brought him to where he was now, sitting outside of Mystic Falls High in his truck, waiting for her. He was her ride and she was staying with him, well, she had said she wanted to. In all honesty he didn't know if she knew that he only had his truck. Nowhere really to sleep except a mattress in the back, and that wasn't exactly suitable for her - she was far above that; well at least she was in Addi's eyes. He leaned back and shut his eyes as he waited for the lovely girl to come to him so he could sort out some way for her to be happy back in Mystic Falls.

There she was sitting in her desk in her last class of the day, Advance History. The eraser of her pencil tapped down onto her desk as she then looked out of the window, seeing Addison's truck. A very slight smile tugged on her lips as she did not want everyone to see that she was smiling. Valerie Luna Jones was not always the type of girl who smiled a lot or showed her feelings around a lot of people unless they earned a very special trust with her. Her blue eyes then snapped away from the window finally as she then looked at the clock. Five more minutes of this torture before she could get out of the school and go back out to Addison.
A small sigh escaped from her lips as she then ran a hand through her hair. She looked around slowly as she looked at everyone writing down their notes in a quick speed as if they were going to get afraid from not taking down all of the notes that the teacher was writing on the board. The topic was simply easy for Valerie. World War 2. She held back a snort as her teacher said something that was completely wrong, even according to their history books, but all of the students besides Valerie wrote it down onto their paper.
Finally the bell rang and Valerie stood up instantly, pulling her book close to her chest and made her way to her locker. Her head was bowed down as she dared to not look at anyone as she then got to her locker, put her belongings away, grabbed her book bag and then made her way out of the school. Once she felt the fresh air hit her skin, she looked up and around for Addison's truck. Her blue eyes locked onto the truck then as she walked over towards him. Once she was close enough to him, she then said, "Well hey there Addi."

The school bell hadn't bothered Addi, but as soon as Val spoke to him - he jumped slightly and hit his horn. He was startled to say the least and people were looking, but he just shook his head and leaned out his window slightly. The only person that ever called him anything but Addison or Floyd was in fact Valerie, which was always a welcomed differentiation from the norm. The doors were locked, even though the windows were down, he still locked them - a normal habit. Addi let out a sigh and stretched a tad bit as he offered her a warm smile before nudging her slightly with his hand. "Hey yourself, Val. You hungry?" He asked as he turned the engine of his truck back on and then went back to being out the window and staring at her.

She chuckled a bit as he shoved her a bit and then she shrugged a bit as her bag hung of of her right shoulder. "Actually I am a bit hungry. Can you please unlock the truck though so then I can get in first?" She looked into his eyes gorgeous eyes with her own blue eyes. He was in fact very handsome and attractive, but she always thought that Addison saw her as a little girl who was still in high school. Her hair curled perfectly around her face as the wind blew in her face. Her body was shivering a bit as she then mentally swore at herself for not bringing in a jacket to wear that day.

He leaned over and flicked up the switch to unlock the door as he leaned back and cracked his neck slightly. Valerie was like the little bird that he used to be, and now he had the chance to help someone out. After his parents died he had no ability to grasp himself, so he figured she needed it. "Yeah, sorry. We can go get food, and get in before you freeze to death." He said with a slight laugh as he awaited her to hop in so they could drive away.

She rolled her eyes a bit as she then laughed slightly as she got in on her usual side, put her book bag in the back seat, and then she buckled up in the front seat and looked up at the man besides her. "Ready." she said before she then looked down at her lap and folded her hands onto her lap once more. Her blue eyes were hiding her true emotions that were bottled up inside of her. Her true emotions were filled with happiness and joy that she was friends and so close to Addison, but she was now hiding her emotions due to all of the emotions she had gone through since her sixteenth birthday. Her heart raced slightly as the images of her parents dead bodies and the blood that stained the white carpet flooded into her mind as she then squeezed her eyes shut very tightly to make herself not cry at all. The thought of telling Addison the reason why she did not have a home or family was filling her head. She did not know if she wanted him to know of the vampires that roamed this town and how she was a hunter.

As he pulled away from the school and hit the main road, he noticed that she had gotten awfully quiet. Out of the corner of his eye he saw her, looking down - eyes shut tight. She either had a bad day or was doing exactly as he had done for a year or so after his family passed. Silently grieving or she was remembering what happened, either way, it wasn't fair to her. Addison reached over and put a hand atop hers and offered a smile as he focused back onto the road, his werewolf strength being enough to overpower his power steering with just a single hand. "Where do you wanna eat, Lunabug? And ease up, nothings gonna hurt ya. No one or anyone or anything, understand?" He asked in a serious, but powerful tone as he kept driving; he was certain that it was within his strength to protect her no matter what.

She looked up at him as he placed a hand onto her hand and she gave him her smallest smile. "Can we please eat at the Grill Addi? And do you really think that no one is going to hurt me at all?" Oh how Valerie wanted to just tell him about everything go on in this town and how everything was not how it seemed. She may be human, but she does go after the supernatural, well just vampires actually. Her number one goal in life, besides finding love, was to kill the vampire bastard who killed her parents. She then did something that was strange for her to do. Valerie leaned up and kissed his cheek gently before she then rested her head onto his shoulder very gently once more.

She always acted so proper around him and it confused him, but he figured it was how she was raised. Addison rarely said please or thank you or requested anything, he generally just did as he pleased. "Of course we can, Val. Well as long as I am right here... No one can ever hurt you. I'd crack heads before I let anything get to ya." He said with a smug, confident smile as he felt her lips against his cheek and sort of brushed it off mentally. Affection wasn't something he was particularly fond of anymore, anything he once held as a child was entirely gone; he was just Addison Hughes, werewolf and construction worker that had flipped his lycan switch, for the most part. There was no emotional switch for someone that wasn't a vampire, but it was how he justified his actions and lied to himself about why he didn't feel. Her hair always felt nice, that was something he liked - it always tickled the side of his neck, and she felt safe at his side, so he always let her do so. "Never really asked you, but why do you trust me so much?" Addi asked, completely curious about why she did trust him, because about a year or so ago they didn't know each other and he had befriended her - and now this. It was all so interesting and peculiar to wrap one's head around.

He asked her that question about why she trusted him so much. Was so going to tell him because she felt comfortable around him and how he was the only one in this whole world and town that she trusted? She bit down onto her lip as she then looked down at the ground once more before she then looked up at him once more and decided to not say a thing. She was at a lost for words as she then bit her lip as she looked up at him and then rested her head back onto his shoulder and closed her eyes a bit. "Why do you want to know Addi?" she whispered towards him as she kept her eyes closed for she knew that her blue eyes were showing her true emotions and she did not need them to get in the way or make anything awkward between Addison and Valerie. She slowly breathed in and out to control her racing heart as well at that very moment.

He could tell that it was a touchy subject for her, so he just told himself that he shouldn't have asked. Either way it was a mistake and he didn't want her to be subjected to telling him something that she might have wanted to keep secret. "I was just curious, usually people don't trust me. Maybe because I never give 'em a reason to." He said as he pulled into the parking space next to The Grill and shut his car off. It wasn't really any of his business, but he wasn't entirely trustworthy, or maybe he was just giving himself a negative look.

She then sighed as she shook her head and sat up straight, getting off of his shoulder. "No no Addi. I know that you are curious. I am just...worried that you would judge me if I told you the reason why I trust you so much. Anyway, lets just drop it and go into the Grill, huh? It is my turn to pay anyways." Valerie's blue eyes looked up at him as she then winked a him a bit before she got out of the truck and waited for the much taller man to join her to walk into the restaurant, well bar and grill. A very slight smile played her lips once more as she kept looking at him as her heart was racing once more. Inside of her mind, she was mentally swearing in her mind.

Addi simply nodded and watched her get out, as he sighed and put his keys and phone into his pocket. She wanted to pay, that was fine by him - the more money he saved the quicker he could get a place of his own. Sleeping in a truck wasn't exactly the dream that he had pictured when his parents died, but it made due. Very warm, fairly comfortable but it wasn't permanent, it couldn't be. "I don't judge people... Well that's a lie. I wouldn't judge you." He said as he got baffled for a second before coming to the truth. She made things different which was irritating at first, but he had gotten used to it and grown to like the contrast between the two. He tugged his hoodie off to reveal a v-neck shirt, and put the hoodie around Val's shoulder. "Don't suffer in silence, you are cold - should probably ask next time." He said teasingly as he offered her the same wink that she had just used against him.

Valerie smiled a bit as his warm hoodie was placed onto her small shoulders and wrapped around her small body. Sighing happily, she put her arms through the sleeves as she then leaned onto him a bit. "Thanks Addi." she said before they then walked into the Grill and looked for a new spot to sit at. Her blue eyes looked around and then she spotted the open booth, she grasped Addi's hand and walked with him towards the booth as she dared to not look at anyone else in the Grill incase if someone in there was a vampire that she was hunting down or someone who was a friend of a vampire that she had killed. Her heart race was now controlled as she then let go of Addison's hand and then she sat down on her side and waited for him to sit down across from her.

Addison smile as they entered and was taken by surprise when she gripped his hand, but he followed her without question. Once she was seated he just smirked and sat down across from her - feeling a bit odd that they were not next to each other, but it didn't matter. After he sat down he ran his hand down his jaw and looked back at her. "I have no idea what I want to eat, Val." He said as he tapped the table and looked around.
