(OOC Note: This takes place after “Night at the Bridge” in Wickery Bridge. It is a recount of how Jei ultimately finishes his transition to fill in some holes. I'll probably add a little to it each day or as things move along elsewhere and I'll even include some spots where anyone can join in if they like)
“Thanks.” I said after grabbing my bag of swimming clothes and getting out of the car. “No problem.” The driver said as he began to pull off. I was lucky enough that someone else was heading back into town that night. I decided not to mention what happened with Rebekah or those two other people. Other than the necklace I had it was like they never existed. I had no idea why I kept quiet but I was too hungry to even think about what happened.
Before I could knock on the door, it opened. “Jei!” Naomi said, hugging me so hard that it hurt a little bit. “Are you ok?” She asked. “I'm fine.” I reassured her. I walked in and set my bag down. “Is Areya home?” I asked “Yeah, she's upstairs sleeping.” My aunt went into nurse mode and started to check my vitals when I pulled my arm back. “I'm fine, I'm just a little hungry.” I said. “I'll fix something to eat before I go to sleep.” “You should stay up tonight... and home tomorrow. It looks like you at least got a concussion from the accident. Does it hurt?” “It doesn't.” I started hearing an annoying tick-tock. “If it does let me know, and I mean it. Don't ta............” Her words were almost drowned out by everything else I could hear. What was on television.......in the house next door. I also heard what sounded like a couple of people having a good time.
“I got it, don't take any aspirin or I might not wake up. Tell you if my head hurts so we can call an ambulance. I'm fine.” It was starting to become my theme song. “I'm going to get something to eat and I'll study and watch some television. I won't fall asleep. I'm still kind of wired anyway” I said as I headed for the kitchen. I could tell that Naomi would rather have taken me to the hospital to get me checked out, and I had expected her to but for some reason she didn't.
