History:
Damon grew up in Stefans shadow. Despite being the older brother their father always had eyes for Stefan but Damon loved his brother none the less. That was until the beautiful vampire Katherine turned up into their lives and stole both their hearts. Weeks into the boys relationship with Katherine their father shot both boys dead after they attempted to rescue her from his capture.
Having Katherines blood in their system enabled them to come back to life as a vampire as long as they drank human blood to complete the transformation, an act Damon refused to take part in. That was until Stefan forced him to drink. From then on Damon made a promise to make Stefans life a walking nightmare for as long as they both shall live.
Damon is now in Mystic Falls having followed his brother there, and is now staying for one thing. Elena Gilbert.
