Coming Home (Kol)

Story: I needed help writing a fan fic of a soilder coming home in the TVD fandom and so I thought why not use a site canon pairing for that job.

Elizabeth had been sitting at the manison, looking at the ring she had adorn her left ring finger for the past 100 years. Kol, her loving husband and one true love, had decided to enlist in the U.S Military; Marin division; and had been away from his family for over a year. Since the two got married, Eli had been thinking about having a family. Its impossible for vampires to procreate, so it was plan B. Adoption. The couple adopted twins, a boy and a girl, 17 years ago. The town had been compelled to see a slightly older couple than what the two actually looked like. Their children knew what they were and what they looked like. Eli was going to wait to turn her children in a few years, that is if they desired to become one of them.

Elizabeth had been in the kitchen, preparing supper for that night. Steak, mashed patatoes, and mixed vegetables. The kitchen had faced the rear of the Estate. She had been seeking hope for today, hope that maybe she would see her husband face to face soon. They had skyped, emailed, called and sent messages to each other for weeks on end. ut he hadnt been responding within the past week. She wondered what had been going on, hoping he was alright. He should have been, but you never knew if someone had known your biggest secert, your biggest downfall.

Kol was driving his car back in the town as he was slightly breathing in and out. This whole military thing he did was a terrible idea. He missed his family the most of all. Well, mostly his gorgeous wife Elizabeth. A smile spread on his lips one more as he thought about looking at her. The one and only woman he ever wanted to see. His eyes snapped as he pulled up to their home and parked the car. He walked out and flung his bag to hang off his shoulder as he then walked up to the front door and knocked on it. Here it goes. His happiness.

Thats strange? Nobody visited her, unless it was her friends or something, but they were out on a world tour with whoever. Elizabeth stopped making the food, washed her hands, dried them off with a towel thing and began to walk to the door. Her heels click on the hardwood as she made her way to the door. She reached for the handle, opening it up to the suprise of her life. Tears instantly fell from her eyes, a hand covering her mouth. After a second or two, her arms wrapped around his neck, kissing his cheek. It wasnt a loud cry, but it wasnt soft either. She moved her head back to look at his eyes. "Please tell me im not dreaming."

Kol dropped the bag he was holding as he then wrapped his arms around his love as he kissed her lips and then he looked at her with his caring brown eyes as he then smiled once more at that moment right then and there. "This is not a dream Elizabeth. I am finally back home for you." He chuckled a bit as he then started to cry as well. Kol Mikaelson was one to not cry, but see his love again was making him emotional. His hold tightened around her as he then kissed the top of her head as he was not going to let go of her at all at that moment. Like hell anyone or anything was going to tear them apart right then and there. "I love you so much Elizabeth." he whispered down into her ear as he kissed it once more. He then kissed her cheek very gently.

Her hands cuped both sides of his face, her fingers spread apart as her lips met his,, their tears clashing. She had jumped up on him, her head lsightly higher than his. "You're the craziest man I know." she kissed his cheeck, suprised that he was even here now. A year had come and go and nothing prepared her for this. "The kids! Oh my god, the kids. You have seen what has happened. They miss you so much. I missed you." she said, her head then burrying into his shoulder of his blue, white and red uniform. He was one crazy, lucky son of a gun.

Kol smiled as he held his love close to him as he rocked with her back and forth a bit once more at that moment in time. "There there love. I am here for you and I have brought you back a gift." He wiggled his eyebrows as he then sat her down onto the couch as he then looked into her eyes and said, "Stay right here. I am going to go change and then come down with your gift." He pecked her lips, wiped off her tears, and then ran up the stairs towards the bedroom as he then got changed into his jeans, black shoes, and black t-shirt. This was the most amazing feeling in the whole world. Coming home. Coming home to his amazing wife and his loving kids.

She giggled as he wiggled his eyebrow. He carried her to the couch, setting her down, pecking her while wiping the tears away. As he left, she took a tissue from the side table to continue wipeing her eyes. She would have posted it to Facebook, but she was friend with her kids and she wanted to suprise them. She looked at a picture she had framed. It was the family, Kol in his uniform, Eli in a dark ble dress and her kids nicely dressed. It was the day he left, the day had been sad. She acted strong for her children, but she would curl into a ball when they were never there.Wait a minute, this better not be a gift like when he bought her an island for thier 75th wedding aniversery. That was great, but to much for her. She loves the island, but she was easily impressed.

Kol took the box out as he smiled a bit. He knew this was not as big and extravagant as the island he bought her on their 75th weddin anniversary. He then carried the small box with him as he walked down the stairs and looked at everything. He was unlisted now as he did not want to leave his home, his kids, or his love ever again. Kol never told anyone this, but when he was away at war, every night he would sit down and listen to their song. A Thousand Years. The song reminded him of the time they first met one and other and kissed over and over again. A small smile formed on his lips as he then peaked into the room and looked at his wife. "Close your eyes love. This is going to be an amazing surprise. And I promise it is not another island or anything like that."

Ryan and Brooke would be over the moon. Since Kol left, Ryan had been talking about joining the air force. He acted just like his name sake before Kol left, then he became The man of the house. Ryan Damon Mikaelson, Ryan ment little king and Damon was a reference to a demon. So being the adopted son of Kol Mikaelson and being named after her uncle (her older brother) Ryan lived up to his Little Demon King ways. He knew that he made his mother upset when he talked about joining, but if that was what he wanted, then so be it. He and his sister, Brooke Rebekah Mikaelson; were not going to be 17 forever, that is unless they wanted to be. Eli crossed her legs as Kol called for her to close her eyes. She smirked, closing them and covering them up, tempted to peak at whatever he had bought for her.

Kol ran quickly to be behind her as he then opened the box and took out the necklace he had gotten for his love. Slowly, he put the necklace onto her neck as he then kissed the back of her neck a bit more right then and there at that moment. His eyes were closed as I kept my lips to the back of he neck. "I love you Elizabeth. Open your eyes now." he whispered for her to hear as he then smirked and walked around so then he can see her reaction to the smallest gift he have given her since they have been married. He sat there besides her as he smirked and waited for her to open her eyes. He noticed that Brooke and Ryan were no where to be seen and he wondered where his kids were.

Eli could feel Kol's lips pressed against her skin behind her neck. She had smiled, feeling just like she did the first several months, even years that they were together. When he walked around, she finally looked down to the weight that now bore on her neck. She saw an elegant diamond necklace with a blue saphire in the middle, surrounded by little diamonds. Her jaw dropped, as her eyes widdened then re-sized to its normal size. As he sat down, she threw her arms around his neck, pushing him back on the couch, her torso layed on his as her legs curled up, laying up against his. "I love you too." she told him, clinging to him, her head under his chin. Thats when she had the idea. "I know how to suprise Brooke and Ryan! Brooke is the leading lady in the play tonight and they are having an auction before hand to raise money for some in town thing. Maybe you could eb the suprise bidder and see her again. And Ryan has senior night football tonight! Special guest! Wow what you have missed." she could just see her childrens faces when Kol comes to the school and suprise them. It seems lovely in he rmind.

Kol did a sad smile as he then heard about how much he as missed in his kids' lives. "I will love to do that. When shall we get going love?" he asked her as he then pecked her lips gently as he was smiling some more at that moment. He slowly pulled back as eh then stroke her cheek and looked into her eyes once more at that moment. People around town do not see Kol and Elizabeth being the same age that they have been for a long time, but their kids saw and knew what they were. Kol and Elizabeth made a deal with Brooke and Ryan that when they wanted to be turned, then they will. Then they will be all under the same bloodline. They would be apart of Kol's bloodline.

She kissed his lips as they pecked a few times. Being in his hold made her so happy. "Let me go make som calls, find a nice outfit, get senior gifts ready then we can go. So about an hour or two." she said. She didnt want to leave his embrace, but she had to. She picked up her cell phone and called the school, informing them about the situation. After getting some things arranged, she looked at him. "Everything is set. We'll suprise Brooke first then we will suprise Ryan. Now, i need to go get ready." she said, bending over and kissing him again. after a minute or two, she peck his lips twice or even three times. She smiled as she slowly walked to the stair case that curved to the left. She headed to their bedroom, stripping her clothes off, leaving a trail behind her.

He blurred up tot he bedroom and was there in a matter of a couple of seconds. He changed into some nice pants, and shirt s he then looked over at Elizabeth and smiled some more at her as he looked at her the whole time. He felt nothing but love towards her. She was the one adn only person that this original brother was ever going to love.

As the hot water trickled down her body, Eli watched Kol, watching her. She took a quick shower, seeing as she took a long one today. After getting out, she dryed off, wrapping the towel around her body, walking to the colset, She picked out a fun and flirty dress. Its not what the typical mom would wear, but she looked sexy in it. After getting dressed, Eli brushed her hair. She knew that the senior gifts she picked out were meant for her to give, but she had a back-up set. Eli handed Kol two boxes. One was wrapped in pick wrapping paper and the other in blue. The pink one had a necklace in it with the blue one had a ring. It had a crest in both pieces of jewlery. "Ready to go see them?" she asked him.
