Before I could speak, Naomi spoke first. "Thanks for reminding me. I got a call earlier while we were on the way here, the High School received both of your records earlier, so you're all set to go." I was hoping to get a day to just unpack and rest, but it looked like that wasn't happening after all. "I guess I am." I said. "Maybe I'll see you at school tomorrow."

I nod. Yeah, I'm sure. I fish out a piece of paper from my pocket and write my number on it before handing it to him Call me or text me if you need something, if you get lost, whatever. I chuckle. It was lovely meeting all of you. I say before walking out of the house and up to my house. ---------------- NEXT SCHOOL DAY

I watched James leave after Jei exchanged numbers with him, wishing that he could have stayed for dinner. I heard a little bit of his story when Jei talked to him. I'm usually not a lurker but I couldn't help but eavesdrop. I understood that he couldn't stay, but I'd wished that he could. I decided to ask Jei more about him before he went upstairs to shower. Naomi and Michelle had taken Eric with them to get the food.
"So, I heard a little bit of James's story....." Before I could say any more Jei interrupted me. "One crush ends, another begins!!" He's teasing me again. I started to blush. I was a little too embarrased to speak but I covered anyway. "I just feel a little sorry for him that's all." "It's a pretty sad story." Jei said "But remember, he's 18 so he's a bit out of your league." "He's only 3 years older than me, but I guess you're right." I said. "Let me know when you're done." "Alright" Jei said as he headed up to the bathroom to shower. I had a feeling, like someone was watching us so I went to look out the backdoor. When I looked however, the back yard was empty and both of the garage doors were closed. "Is anyone there?" I called. I waited a few seconds but noone replied so I shrugged it off and went to my room to continue unpacking.

-------------------------------------------------------Next Day I blink and climb out of bed. I jump in the shower for 5 minutes and climb out. I pull on a pair of jeans and a navy shirt before tugging on my black leather jacket. I put some food in Maverick's dish before grabbing my backpack and climbing into my car out front. I start the car, an R8 Spyder and pull out of the garage. I stop in front of Jei's house. I press cal on my phonel and wait for him to answer. Hey Jei, I'm outside in my car if you want a ride. Your sister's welcome to come.

--The Next Morning-- My feet feel damp as I step on the mud. It is a rainy night. I look up to see a flash of lightning light up the sky through the trees. I'm in the woods somewhere but I don't know where. The thunder that followed scares me. I'm usually not afraid of thunderstorms, but I am terrified of this one. I am drawn in one direction. I'm looking for someone but I can't remember who. I don't even know why I'm here. After walking for awhile longer I come across a pool of blood. I know I shouldn't step into it but I do anyway. "Jei....please......" I hear a voice call behind me and I turn around. I see a figure calling for me. For some reason I can't make out who or what they are, but I know I want to reach them. As I try to move my legs feel heavy.
The pool of blood I'm standing in has become like quicksand. I try to lift my legs to reach the figure and I feel them trying to pull me out of the blood, but it's useless. Right as I'm almost completely drowning in the blood I hear a sharp ringing in my ears.
I jump up with a start. I'm in my bed. I look around in a sweat as I realize that the ringing was my annoying alarm clock. I shut it off and look around my room. I still had some unpacking to do but at least half of the room looked like it wasn't a storeroom. It was time to get up and get ready for school.
--45 mins later-- Areya and I were just finishing breakfast and Naomi was helping Eric to get ready for school. I wore a navy blue short-sleeved shirt and a light sweater jacket and blue jeans. Areya wore a dark blue mini jacket with a white shirt underneath. Her straight dark brown hair covered the back of her jacket. She also wore dark blue jeans and a pair of heels. I put some notebooks and papers into my backpack. "Hurry Up you two, I don't want to be late." Naomi urged us. She had to go see the hospital about the nursing position that they had set up for her. She wasn't set to start until next week, after she drove Michelle the rest of the way to Lynchburg but she wanted to be on time for her meeting and we were running kind of late. She had planned to leave Eric with us over the weekend so she could drop Michelle off at her brother's house in the city.
It was then that I heard my black htc windows phone buzz. "Hey Jei, I'm outside in my car if you want a ride. Your sister's welcome to come." As if an answer to Naomi's problem. I picked it up and responded "Sure, we'll be right out." I tell my aunt. "Naomi, James is going to give us a ride." "Tell him I said thanks and I owe him for this." I decided to drop a subtle hint "I'm sure he doesn't mind, of course we wouldn't have this issue if....." "Get going already." Naomi practically pushed us out of the door. I noticed that she and Areya exchanged a look as we were heading out.
I would have asked her what it was about but we both noticed James's car. "Nice Ride." I said as I opened the door. I knew that Areya was impressed as she slid into the back seat.

I nod and offer a wave in the mirror to Areya. Thanks. I wait for the two distinct sounds of seatbelts clicking before driving off in the direction of the school. After about five minutes we arrive and I park in my usual spot by the entrance. I get out and sling my backpack over my shoulder. The football team looks over and scrutinizes Jei. Oh damn, they're going to give him a hard time. They all laugh after the captain makes a comment and walk over. I used to be captain but I quit after some issues. THe team as a whole still looks up to me. Just as they're about to be in Jei's face, I step in front of him and Areya. I tower over Rick, the new captain. They're with me. Mess with them and you mess with me. Touch them, and I'll have you off the team. You know coach still favors me over you. I glare at the other football team members. You all should be ashamed. You have an asshole for a captain so now you're going to follow every dumbass thing he has you do. He's the boss on the field, not in the real world. Wake up. The captain glares at me. You'll see me later, Purser. He turns and starts walking back with his team trailing behind him. I look forward to it. I turn back around to face Areya and Jei. I can take the both of you to the office if you want; they'll want you to check in and get your schedules. Jei's not a super-skinny guy, but he's not exactly fit. The football team would crush him.

"Sure." I said. "Let's go." I could tell that despite my warnings Areya was kind of impressed with him. I was a senior so I wasn't going to have as much time in this school as my sister did. I knew she wanted to be part of the popular crowd but I didn't want the girls to give her a hard time. I was just glad that Areya and I had already finished our freshman year with the greeting the football team gave us. I was glad that James was there. I had more of a swimmer's physique so while I wasn't exactly skinny, I wasn't as built as some of the guys that approached us. It still wouldn't stop me if any of those jerks decided to get a little bit too friendly with my sister. (OOC: I'm assuming once we get inside it will move over to the HS forums)

I nod and lead the way inside to the office. I nod to Ms. Johnson and step back to let the two figure their stuff out. I'm pretty sure I got an email about being someone's ambassador. Oh now it makes sense. I'm Jei's ambassador, which means we have all the same classes. I'm in honors/AP everything so I guess this kid's pretty smart. I cross my arms and wait for them to get their schedules.

"Cool. It looks like we have the same classes." I said as I checked the schedule that Ms. Johnson printed out for me. We waited for her to finish printing Areya's schedule.

So far, I'd been impressed with James. I thought it was cool that he stood up for us even though he barely knew us. I looked around as we waited for our schedules and was glad when I heard that James was my brother's ambassador. Ms. Johnson finally handed me my schedule. Lucky me, the first class I had was history. "Looks like I have history first period." I would have preferred a less boring class so early in the morning.

I nod and offer a polite smile. Second door on the left. I nod to Ms. Johnson and lead James out of the office. We walk to AP Calculus and I take my usual seat in the middle of the class. James sits next to me. Mr. Winchester stands and begins the lesson. I'm good at Calculus; I rarely ever pay attention in this class.

AP Calculus. Now this would be a challenge. I had Pre-Cal last year and while I was good at the material, it did take me awhile to learn it. I wasn't inherently good at math like people assumed I was, but maybe this time would be different. It didn't help that my last teacher Ms. Benson as nice as she was, taught Pre-Calculus in such a way that only two of us really understood the material, and that was a miracle in itself. The rest of the class barely passed. Things were going well in this class so far at least.
"He seems a lot more interesting than my last teacher." I said to James. "At least he speaks English."

I shrug my shoulders and smirk. Mr. Winchester likes me. I'm effortlessly good in this class. I don't pay attention but I ace everything. MR. Winchester looks at me and speaks. A physical fitness room consists of a rectangular region with a semicircle at each end. If the perimeter of the room is to be a 200 ft running track, what is the radius of the semicircle that will make the rectangular region a maximum? I answer him instantaneously. Radius is 9.72 feet. Mr. Winchester nods and smiles. Can you tell me how you did that? I nod and speak. Let x = radius of the semicircle. We are trying to maximize the rectangular area, so we need an equation for area in terms of x. The Circumference of each semi-circle will be (pi*x). The Width of the rectangle will be 2x (two radii), and the Length of rectangle is the total perimeter minus the widths and the circumferences. In mathematical wrting this is l = 200 - 2 * (pi*x) - 2 * (2x) and l = 200 - (2pi + 4) * x. The Area of the rectangle = length * width. SO you instert the math problem, A = (200 - (2pi + 4) * x) * 2x and then A = 400x - (4pi + 8) * x^2. To maximize area, take the derivative and set equal to zero: A'' = 400 - (8pi + 16) * x AND THEN 0 = 400 - (8pi + 16) * x. Then you get x = 400 / (8pi + 16). Simplified this is 9.72. I say without much thought. Mr. Winchester nods and starts gathering papers. He smiles to himself.
x = 9.72 (radius)

"Wow. That's pretty impressive. It probably would have taken me just a bit longer to come up with the answer." I said. It was amazing how quickly he came up with the answer. James didn't even have to pull out his calculator to figure it out. It was like he just knew it.

I walk into AP Calculus and hand Mr. Winchester my pass. My car broke down. I take my usual seat next to James and raise an eyebrow. Mr. Winchester writes Study Hall on the board. Guess we get the day off. James, care to introduce me to your friend? Asian. Weird, we don't have many Asians here. I don't miss the sound of the new boy's heart rate increasing. He finds me attractive. How sweet. James clears his throat. Yu can speak, Jei, introduce yourself.
